Health fitness
Being free from diseases or health problems does not necessarily mean that a person is healthy or fit. One has to be fit physically, mentally and emotionally. When all these three combine, a person is ideal in all ways. Good health should be a condition and way of life. Fitness is not measured by the number of steps a person can climb without panting, or by running for miles. Neither is good health and fitness the prerogative of sportspeople only. It is everyone’s concern and everyone’s right.
Good health and fitness is the means of going through life with self-confidence, positive approach and reaching great heights in the chosen field. A sickly or unfit person cannot take charge of his life in a proper manner. Health comes from proper diet and nutrition, daily exercises and good surroundings. The sparkle in the eyes, healthy appearance and a spring in the walk can measure good health. A slightly overweight person can by physically fit and a lean person may not be healthy. Being correct in weight and appearance does not signify good health and fitness. It is a combination of mind and the body.
Good health begins from the time one is conceived. The physical health of the parents helps a great deal in giving the boon of good health and an excellent start in life to their children. The first three months of life are also very important. It is said that the maximum brain development is done by the time a person is three months old. A child gets his physical health and fitness chalked out in the first few years of his life. A fat baby is said to grow into a fat adult as fat cells are created at a young age and they are difficult to remove. But nowadays even an overweight person can get into a perfect physical structure and be fit by exercising, going to the gym or regularly performing physical fitness exercises by listening to a tape, or watching a video or getting instructions on -line.
Any and every person can be physically fit and healthy. The man himself without
waiting for divine or natural intervention can mastermind what nature has
not given. A good garden is not made by sitting in the shade and saying, ‘Oh,
how lovely.’ The gardener has to make all efforts to get his garden beautiful
with healthy plants and trees.
Good health is the greatest boon a person can get. This boon can be achieved
through his own efforts and through his own perseverance and discipline. Fitness
can be achieved if one has the inclination and perseveres it by dedicated
efforts. There are various books which give hints, ideas for fitness and health.
Just as a seed grows into a proper good tree if it has the right amount of
water, good soil, air and tender care, a person can become healthy and fit
by proper nourishment and nurture. It is in our hands to be fit and healthy
or unfit and unhealthy. We help ourselves by taking care of our bodies and
our minds.
